Beliefs

Bible: We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. It speaks to all of the moral and social issues of our day. (2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness…”)

Trinity: We believe that there is one God who has revealed Himself as Creator (God the Father), Redeemer (God the Son – Jesus Christ) and Sanctifier (God the Holy Spirit). (Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’”)

Salvation: We believe that Jesus Christ – true God and true man – is the only way of salvation. (John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.'”) Salvation (the forgiveness of sins) is by grace (God’s unmerited favor for Christ’s sake) through faith, and not by human works or merit. (Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”)

Piety: We believe that all Christians are salt and light to the world. (Matthew 5:13-14 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden…”)

Worship: We believe that worship services are to be simple, orderly and joyfully centered on God’s Word, both law and gospel, sin and grace. (I Corinthians 14:40 “But all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.”)

Three Creeds: We believe in and uphold the three Christian creeds which have united all Christians around the world; the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.

Lutheran Confessions: We also hold to the Creeds which also unite all Bible-believing Lutherans around the world – in particular the Small Catechism and the Unaltered Augsburg Confession, and, in general, the other doctrinal statements contained in the Book of Concord. These documents state what we, as Lutherans, believe, teach, and confess. They also show from the Scriptures why we believe these things, and also demonstrate that these teachings are not new, but have been believed, taught, and confessed in the holy Christian Church since the beginning.

If you have questions about these statements or any other relating to what we believe, please feel free to call or email us. You are also welcome to contact us if you have any questions relating to your own relationship with Jesus Christ.
